Kibbutz Ma'ayan Zvi, the last row of old houses on a cliff, with an outstanding view to the Mediterranean sea. Old social housing with tile roofs slanted towards east and west. Sela house is situated on this cliff, on one side the view and on the other - an entrance from the heart of the Kibbutz, through lawns and pedestrians paths, like in old times. There is also a third side,with half of the old house left, once composing a whole.

One could Easily get "high" of the view and climb up high with the house as much as the building limitations allow; our clients,  who grew up in the kibbutz thought otherwise. This was the cheering starting point, so we planned the first floor as the highest floor of the house as a continuation of the old house on its south side - one floor, with a front entrance, like in old times, and a tile roof slanted towards east and west. Still, we made two changes: the rear part of the roof was "elevated" in order to let the sun in and the wind out; in addition, we designed a narrow patio, 1.2 meters wide, between the old house and the new one, in order to create a forth facade.

The entrance floor is composed of a kitchen, a dining area and a living room on its southern side, and a parents suite on its north. A balcony  goes through the western scenic side. In the ground floor, service rooms are located on the dug eastern side, whereas the children's rooms are on the west, open to the  sea view and the garden. The children's rooms also share a playing space open to the patio
