Local phenomenons, mostly unplanned, but engraved as part of the public landscape and memory, have marked the connection area of Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Bat-Yam as a unique area, that belongs mainly to their residents: ascetic lifeguarde shed, cemetary wall, taverns on the beach, sea activities school, pirate path on top af a cliff. All of those were the foundations of the planned new connection between the two cities. For that reason, we devided the space to three different areas:

 

• The northern part of Ben-Gurion Promenade in Bat-Yam

• Southern Jaffa

• The municipal connection area

Each area compelling a different planning approach that fits the specific urban fabric and its land uses.

The local unique phenomenons are the foundations to create a space that is a part of the urban, economic and social system, a space that aims to feel like it has always been there. A space that feels like home.
